NOW IS THE TIME for growing marriages and families who thrive, for “the Lord will suddenly appear” (Malachi 3: 1) Let’s prayerfully read & reflect on the New Testament book of 1 Peter chapter 3. What are some highlights that stand out to you? How might you apply these highlights?
Let’s ZOOM INTO Vs. 8 – 9 – “Finally, all of you be like-minded and sympathetic, love one another, and be compassionate and humble, 9 not paying back evil for evil or insult for insult but, on the contrary, giving a blessing, since you were called for this, so that you may inherit a blessing.”
PRAYER PROMPT: Heavenly Father, may my life be built on Jesus Christ as our cornerstone – taking on His likeness and security. As I reflect on today’s text, I pray that you would make me more _______________________________ (ex.humble, caring, etc. ) Change me, for I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen!

- The calling is to “Love one another.”
- “be likeminded” – try to find common things to agree on as much as possible
- “by sympathetic” – when a family member is hurting, express care and concern.
- “be humble” – by being willing to admit that you are wrong & willing to apologize for a hurt you cause. – i.e. – ‘real people being real.’
- “not paying back… but giving a blessing” – Think of a character quality of a family member you admire and share words of blessing with them.
