Let’s prayerfully read & reflect on Malachi chapter 3 once more (repetition leads you to deeper meditation), let’s give our attention to verses 13 – 16.
PRAYER PROMPT: Father in heaven, You are the righteous Judge of all, and I trust in Jesus alone to save and keep me. As I consider You writing my name down I heaven, my heart is moved with ________________________________________, for I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen!
To walk in His light involves frequent and recurring encounters with . . .
- V. 16 - To Whom does the Lord take notice and listen? _________________________ (Introspection: Am I this kind of person?)
- V16 b – “the book of remembrance” corresponds with “the book of Life” spoken of at the Great White Throne in the book of Revelation chapter 20, verse 11. This is the ‘roll call’ of all the names of the ones who are saved by God’s amazing grace. Jesus told His disciples to “rejoice that your names are written down in heaven.” (Luke 10: 20).
- IMAGINE the Lord speaking over you V.17 – “You are Mine! You are My own possession! I will have compassion on you as a proud Father.” What does this do to your heart? (go ahead & get happy!)
- V.18 – What does this text say about eternity? ____________________________.

To walk in His light involves frequent and recurring encounters with . . .
- Jesus—“Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, ‘I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life’” (John 8:12). We can practice the presence of the Lord, yielding to the Spirit’s work of Christ-likeness.
- Scripture—“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path”(Psalm 119:105). We can live “naturally supernatural” in all of life as God’s Spirit makes the written Word (logos) the living Word (Rhema).
- Followers of Jesus—“You are the light of the world” (Matthew 5:14). We can take courageous initiative as a peacemaker, reconciling relationships along life’s journey.
