Good Deeds that Glorify God

Read: Matthew 5

Key Verse: Matthew 5:16

Inductive Questions:
  • What is the purpose of doing good according to this verse? (Example: The verse teaches that our good deeds should ultimately bring glory to God, not ourselves. When someone notices your kindness or generosity and is drawn to Jesus, that’s when your light is shining rightly.)
  • How can you ensure your actions point others to God? (Consider the motives behind your good deeds—are they driven by a desire to glorify God or to gain attention? True spiritual influence comes when our hearts seek to reflect Christ, not impress people. Pray that your actions will be a sincere overflow of love for God and others, not a performance for approval.)
  • What is one act of kindness or service you can do today?

Prayer: Jesus, let my good works bring glory to You and not to myself. Use my life as a testimony of Your love.

Reflection: A good deed I can do today to glorify You is ___________. I humbly pray
in Jesus' name, Amen.
