Wholehearted Love for God

Read: Deuteronomy 6

Key Verse: Deuteronomy 6:5-6

Context & Explanation:
Deuteronomy 6 is part of Moses’ farewell address to the Israelites before they enter the Promised Land. After recounting God’s faithfulness and the giving of the Law, Moses commands the people to love the Lord with all their heart, soul, and strength. This chapter includes the Shema (verses 4–9), a core affirmation of Jewish faith. It emphasizes making God's Word central in daily life and teaching it diligently to the next generation—rooting a community's love for God in everyday rhythms and relationships.

Inductive Questions:
  • What does it mean to love God with everything you are?

  • What distractions do you need to set aside to love God more fully?

Prayer: God, I want to love You with all that I am. Let Your Word guide my heart and life.
