Living His Mission Day 31

Prayerfully read Acts chapter 6. Pause to reflect on what God is saying to you through your reading.

Notice that no movement of God is without problems. Consider the problem in the early church, and how the apostles resolved the conflict by appointing servant leaders, which we commonly call deacons. Vs. 1 – 7

Pray for the deacon ministry at Sarasota Baptist. Ask the Spirit to empower the Lord to empower these servants as they minister to the needs of the church body by caring for widows and the vulnerable.

‘Zero in’ on V.4. – “But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.” To live on mission with Jesus, we must have leaders who are committed to prayer and the ministry of the Word.

PAUSE AND REFLECT – How has God’s Word ministered to you? Express Your heart of gratitude to God for His life-changing Word.

“Abba Father, Your Word is alive and powerful; Your Word has ministered to be by __________________ (i.e. freeing me from regrets, giving discernment, assuring my heart in trouble, etc). I am filled with thanksgiving for what You are doing through Your Word in my life. I specifically pray for You to allow me to minister Your Word to _________________________ by sharing ________________, for I humbly pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
