Living His Mission Day 32

Prayerfully read the entire chapter of Acts 7. Notice the central figure is Stephen who was one of the early appointed deacons and gave a persuasive message filled with Scripture to the Jewish Sanhedrin (like a supreme court).

What was the outcome of Stephen’s message? Did everyone who heard him believe in Jesus?

Stephen became a martyr in the 1st Century Church; and Jesus was waiting for Him as He entered heaven. It has been said, “the blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church.” Anytime persecution arises against the church the progress of Jesus’ mission advances.

Pause to pray for believers in ‘closed countries’ to the Gospel of Jesus. Many of these countries have less than 2% professing followers of Christ. Look up the Joshuaproject.net to see the people in the world who have no access to a local church or witness of Jesus.

“Abba Father, my heart cries out for brothers and sisters in other parts of the world who are suffering persecution and death. I pray for their courage. As hearts resist my testimony of Jesus, may I never give us displaying Your Light, Life and Love, for I humbly pray in Jesus’ name, Amen!
