Prayerfully read Isaiah chapters 61 & 62 looking for the NAMES the Lord calls you. As you reflect on each these names (“the Lord’s priests” 61:6; “a people the Lord has blessed” 61:9; and more…), Celebrate your identity in Christ – recalling that all of God’s promises to you are “Yes” and “Amen” in Jesus (2 Corinthians 1: 20).
ZOOM IN to 61:1- 2. This is the very text Jesus read in the synagogue in Nazareth (Luke 4:14 – 30). After Jesus read this text, He said to them, “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.” – i.e. – Jesus is the promised Messiah!
PAUSE & PRAY – Worship Jesus as the Spirit-anointed Messiah who has brought you good news, healed your broken heart, opened the blind eyes of your heart to God, liberated you from the prison of sin, and who has comforted you in grief.
