Welcome to “The Extreme Home Makeover” devotional series prepared just for you by Pastor Lewis.
As we remember Jesus’ death and burial, prayerfully read Psalm 118 through the eyes of Jesus. This is a part of the Hallel psalms which were sung by Jesus with His disciples in the upper room before His arrest. ‘ZOOM IN’ on Vs. 22 – “The stone the builders rejected has become THE CORNERSTONE.” Jesus spoke of this text to the Jewish leaders who rejected Him and condemned Him to die – see Matthew 21:42.
This psalm is an example of how to give thanks for how Jesus is our Cornerstone. “Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; His faithful love endures forever.” Verses 1,22
Think about some of the special things about Jesus that make you grateful. Are you glad Jesus is … forgiving, powerful, in control, a great provider, our savior, accessible, loving?
Give thanks to the Lord by completing this sentence several times: “I’m glad Jesus is _______________________ because _____________.” Write your responses in a journal.
