Today we begin reading the one-chapter book of PHILEMON. It is a small book, but it has a big message about how our Cornerstone (Jesus) reconciles and restores broken relationships.
As you read this one chapter, circle the names that are mentioned. (You should discover 11 names.) Write down what is happening between the apostle Paul, Philemon, and Onesimus.
Pause and identify any relationships in your world that may benefit from reconciliation and restoration. Pray for God to work in the heart of one who has hurt you; ask God to miraculously place people in their pathway (just as God brought Onesimus to the apostle Paul).
“Father in heaven, you know all about my relationship with _____________. I give everyone and everything to You. I ask You to work in their heart to place someone in their life that may point them to Jesus’ love. You did this for Philemon when his runaway servant, Onesimus, encountered Paul in prison. Do this again, for I humbly pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
