Today’s sermon text is Joshua chapter 5, so let’s read again this chapter for the 3rd time. Let’s ‘zoom in’ to V. 13 – 14. Who did Joshua see? What did Joshua say? What did Joshua do?
Who might ‘The Commander of the army of the Lord” be? Many Bible scholars believe this is a pre-incarnate appearance of Jesus. He is the Warrior God who fights our battles.
Pause and Pray in the same posture of Joshua. Lay challenges, obstacles, fears, and disappointments at the feet of Jesus. Don’t hurry…. Give everyone and everything to Him. Get your eyes off Jericho and place them on Jesus (Hebrews 12: 2).
