Prayerfully read Joshua, chapter 8. How did Joshua respond to the defeat of ‘Ai?’ (Did he give up or ‘throw in the towel?’) Joshua ‘fell forward’ with godly sorrow and repentance to experience the grace of God.
‘Zero in’ on 8:1, 2 - “Do not be afraid or discouraged. Take all the troops with you and go attack Ai. Look, I have handed over to you the king of Ai, his people, city, and land.” Vs. 18 – 29 records the defeat of Ai by the Israelites.
Why did the Israelites experience victory after defeat? – See Joshua 1:6-9 for insight.
Respond with failures in your life by bringing them to the Lord. Seek to experience 2 Corinthians 7:10.
PRAY. – “Abba Father, I confess my failure of _____________ to You as sin. I sense sorrow over _________________ because I have hurt You and _________________. Please forgive my sin and change me, for I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen!”
Fall forward into the arms of Jesus.
