The Gibeonites of Joshua chapter 9 are not the only ones who seek to deceive God’s people. Read and reflect on 2 Corinthians chapter 11. What are additional sources of deception and lies that we are to become aware?
‘Zero in’ on V. 3 – What concern did the apostle Paul express concerning the believers in the first century?
“But I fear that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your minds may be seduced from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ.” Is spiritual deception by the devil possible for us today? What is His cunning? “to lead our minds from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ.”
PRAY for your Mind – “O God, I recognize how easily the enemy can lead my mind to think on empty thoughts. I pray that You will empower me to meditate on Your Beloved Son, for I love Jesus, especially the account of ___________________. May my mind cultivate a sincere and pure devotion to Him, for I humbly pray in Jesus’ name, Amen”
