Today’s reading of Romans chapters 12 through 16 is longer than normal, so give yourself extra time. What highlights stand out to you?
ZOOM IN to chapter13 Vs.11 – “It is already the hour for you to wake up from sleep, because now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.” Pray for a spiritual alertness in your heart and the hearts of our church family. Ask the Lord to cause us to fully awaken to His purpose and calling to be SENT on mission with the Gospel.
Jonah had fallen asleep in the storm in the bottom of the ship, and he was awakened to pray. (“What are you doing sound asleep? Get up! Call on your God.” chapter 1 Vs. 6) May God use the turbulence of world events to awaken our hearts to pray, give and go with the Gospel.
Write out a prayer for AWAKENING to occur through the SENT Mission Celebration Weekend (October 6-8); pray for a willingness to go wherever the Lord calls, give generous financial resources, and pray in faith for the advancement of the Gospel.
What would occur if God’s people simply gave 2% of their income, 2% of their time (a week per year) and a focus of their prayers on His mission?
