Today is the Lord’s Day which means we are gathering together at Sarasota Baptist Church. Let’s read the book of Jonah in one setting for the third time. Do you gain any new insights? Write them down in your journal.
ZOOM IN to chapter 4 Vs.1-3 to Jonah being filled with sadness. Why was he so sad?
As we reflect on Jonah’s sadness, he reminds us of the ‘older brother’s sadness’ in Luke 15: 25 - 32. If we do not control our emotions, our emotions will control us.
Let’s pray to become free from painful emotions and experience Romans 15: 13. Pray – “Abba Father, You are the God of hope, and I humbly pray that You will fill me with joy and peace as I believe. Please cause me to overflow with hope by Your Spirit, in Jesus’ name I humbly ask, Amen.”
