Let’s prayerfully read Luke chapter 12.
A LITTLE BACKGROUND –
Jesus is warning against religious hypocrisy and its spreading influence. He teaches the importance of walking in reverential fear of the Lord and boldly acknowledging a relational loving loyalty to Him. Amid His teaching, someone from the crowd inquiries about wealth and inheritance. ZOOM INTO Vs. 15 that Jesus warns about greed, “because one’s life is not in the abundance of his possessions.”
Consider – If your life is not about possessing things, then what is it really about? Your life is about the One who possesses you! Prayerfully embrace that Who You Are is more important that what you possess.
Pray for yourself –
“Abba Father, May Your Spirit help me to think differently than the world around me. My life is not about what I possess, but about You possessing me. I surrender my heart to You once again and I pray that I will boldly acknowledge Your Son in everything I do, for I humbly pray in Jesus’ name, Amen!”
