Let’s read and reflect 2 Corinthians chapter 11 in preparation for worship and Connect groups with our SBC family.
The apostle Paul is speaking to the believers in Corinth and warning of spiritual deception. He gives insight in verse 3 of how to escape the darkness of satanic deception and walk in the Light –
“But I fear that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your minds may be seduced from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ.”
Sincere and Pure devotion to Jesus is to be the focus of our hearts and mind. To escape the darkness that pursues you, the discipleship imperative is to walk in the Light of Jesus. Become a sincere and purely devoted follower of Jesus.
Think of the ONE WORD the Lord has given you for the new year. How does that Word relate to your devotion to Jesus?
PRAYER RESPONSE –
“Lord, amid a complex and busy world, draw my heart to a pure and sincere devotion to Your Son. May I fix my eyes on Jesus, who is the Beginner and Completer of my faith, for I humbly pray, in Jesus’ name, Amen”
