Proverbs are wise sayings that are summed up in one attractive statement that expresses truth that has been lived or experienced. It’s kind of like receiving a text on your phone… except this text originates in heaven and speaks specifically to your life’s circumstances.
Reflect on Proverbs chapter 2, asking the Lord to speak specifically to your heart. He is the Father-king; you are His Prince or Princess-child. The Lord is speaking these words for you to experience a life of blessing, favor, and success (from heaven’s perspective). Based on today’s reading, what is one thing God is saying to you?
Let’s focus on Verse 6, “The LORD gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.” Consider areas in your life you could benefit from the Lord’s insight, knowledge and understanding. Ask Your Father in heaven who is full of excited grace (not reluctant) to fill You with His wisdom. Jesus simply taught us in prayer, “Ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” Write down insights in a journal.
PARENTING IRL CHALLENGE: Prayerfully seek to become like the Lord by freely giving wisdom to your children & ones of the next generation. Wisdom comes from a life of abiding in God’s Word (which is what you are doing)!
