Today is the Lord’s Day; let’s rejoice and be glad in it as we gather with friends in worship and groups. Send a text to a friend inviting them to join you, or write a social media post inviting friends to join you today as we begin a new series, “Parenting IRL” (in real life).
Let’s read Proverbs chapter 5. Based on today’s reading, what is one thing God is saying to you? (Write thoughts down in a journal.)
Let’s focus on Verse 21 – “For a man’s ways are before the LORD’s eyes, and He considers all his paths.” The King-father is giving wisdom to his prince-son that sexual sin is senseless, costly, and foolish. He is instructing him to take great measures to avoid sexual sin (acts, porn, etc) and take wise steps of accountability to preserve one’s way. He is also encouraging his son to pursue marital intimacy with one wife for all of his life, for this is the Lord’s good design.
PAUSE and reflect on your ways being known to the Lord. Are there areas of sin or darkness you desire to confess to the Lord?
Parenting IRL (in real life) Challange: Intentionally talk to your children about God’s design for relationships, marriage, family, and sexuality. Encourage your children to practice purity in all things to please the Lord.
