Let’s read Proverbs chapter 19 using the H.E.A.R. method. As you read the passage, do the following:
H- highlight the verses that stand out to you.
E – explain the verse(s) in your own words of what God is saying to you.
A – apply the verse to your life. (What would it look like to live this truth in your
life?)
R – respond in prayer by writing your heart to God.
Each of these four steps cultivates a heart-attitude to hear God speak.
Zoom into V. 17 – “Kindness to the poor is a loan to the Lord, He will give a reward to the lender.” A Spirit-empowered disciple goes about doing good to all people. Who in your daily traffic pattern could benefit from your kindness in word or deed? Express Jesus’ kindness by demonstrating His love.
Parenting IRL challenge – Kindness in a child’s heart is cultivated by observing the kindness of a parent. Prayerfully seek to show kindness in our community by volunteering to support a need.
