Let’s read Proverbs chapter 21. Based on today’s reading, what is one thing God is saying to you? (Write thoughts down in a journal.)
Let’s focus on V.23 – “the one who guards his mouth and tongue keeps himself from trouble.” God desires for us to be ‘quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.’ We have all experienced speaking words that hurt and injure ‘near ones’ in our lives. Harsh words are like ‘high-speed bullets’ that have sad outcomes. Seek to become a disciple who speaks words that build up by avoiding sarcasm, gossip, and ill-will toward others.
Parenting IRL challenge – Model to your children words that build up by generously giving approval, appreciation, affection and encouragement.
