Parenting IRL Devo Day 24 - January 26

Let’s read Proverbs chapter 24 using the H.E.A.R. method. As you reflect on the chapter:
H- highlight several verses that stand out to you.
E – explain the verse(s) in your own words of what God is saying to you.
A – apply the verse to your life.
R – respond in prayer by writing your heart to God.

Let’s zoom in Vs. 31- 34. “A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, and poverty will come upon you like a robber, and want like an armed man.”
What does it mean to be a slacker? What are the consequences of living with passivity?

Parenting IRL challenge: Reject passivity and accept God-given responsivity as a parent. Set an culture in your home that limits electronics and develops the minds and hearts of your children with the things of the Lord. Set aside an evening to play games as a family to cultivate laughter and conversation. Allow each child to choose a game for their game night.
