Let’s continue walking with Jesus in His final hours of His FINAL WEEK of His earthly ministry. Reflect on Luke’s Gospel chapter 19, verses 41 – 48. Read over this text several times. What stands out to you from the text?
A bit of background: Nearing Jerusalem, Jesus begins to cry over the city. He is heard saying that, because the city did not accept him as Savior, it would soon be destroyed. He then goes to the temple and returns in the evening to Bethany. Notice He teaches daily in the temple.
What does it do to your heart to see Jesus shedding tears over Jerusalem? Pause to ‘enter the fellowship of His sufferings.’ What was Jesus feeling in those moments? Do you think He still feels the sadness when being rejected and not welcome by ones who turn away your witness of Him? Join Jesus in weeping over ones who have rejected His love.
