We are walking with Jesus in His FINAL WEEK. Let’s read John’s Gospel chapter 12, verses 20 – 36. What stands out to you from your reflection?
A bit of background - In the morning, while traveling to Jerusalem, the disciples notice that the cursed fig tree is dried up. Some Hellenist Jews come to Jerusalem to celebrate the feast, & ask Philip if they can see Jesus.
Zoom into V. 35 – Jesus gave His disciples an imperative to follow - “Walk while you have the light so that darkness doesn’t overtake you.”
As a disciple, the darkness is always pursuing you. How do you escape the darkness? “Walk in the Light.” The sources of light are : Jesus (John 8: 12); His Word (Ps. 119: 105); & His people (Matt.5: 14).
Let’s walk in the Light of Jesus by a fresh encounter with Him by zooming into His words of victory over darkness in v. 31 – “Now is the judgment of this world. Now the ruler of this world will be cast out.”
Celebrate the defeat of the prince of the world being cast out. Ask Jesus to break the grip of Satan in your life and the lives of ones near you.
