Final Week Devo Day 20 - February 24

Let’s read and reflect on John chapter 15, using the H.E.A.R. method. As you read the passage, do the following:
H- highlight the verses that stand out to you.
E – explain the verse(s) in your own words of what God is saying to you.
A – apply the verse to your life. (What would it look like to live this truth in your
life?)
R – respond in prayer by writing your heart to God.

A bit of background - At roughly 9 p.m., while walking to the Garden of Gethsemane (at the foot of the Mount of Olives), Jesus reveals Himself to His disciples as the True Vine.

Jesus announced to His disciples His leaving to return to the Father. He now gives the means to survive but also thrive – i.e. how they can become ‘resilient’ through difficult days.

Zoom into V. 5 – “Remain in Me” Hear Jesus’ speak these words just to you. What does His words do to your heart? How do your respond to His words, “without me, you can do nothing”? The positive to Jesus’ words is found in Philippians 4: 13 – “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”

Write out a prayer expressing your desire to ‘remain in Him’ and experience His resilience rising within you. Jesus gives inner braces for the outer pressures as you ‘remain in’ Him as your source of strength.
