Final Week Devo Day 22 - February 26

Let’s continue in our walk with Jesus and his disciples in His FINAL WEEK to the Garden of Gethsemane, which was a favorite place for Jesus to pray to the Father. Let’s walk with Him to the Garden by reflecting on Matthew’s Gospel chapter 26 using the H.E.A.R. method. As you read the passage, do the following:  
    H- highlight the verses that stand out to you. 
    E – explain the verse(s) in your own words of what God is saying to you. 
    A – apply the verse to your life. (What would it look like to live this truth in your 
life?)
    R – respond in prayer by writing your heart to God. 


 This past June 2023 a group from our church went to the Garden and knelt for a time in prayer. Let’s do the same over the next several days. 

Notice in our reading the chapter, Peter, James and John are designated to stand watch while Christ prays for three hours. What happens to His disciples while Jesus prays?

Can you identify with these sleepy disciples? I believe we all can – sleeping (or distracted) rather than praying with Jesus. 

 Why did Jesus invite His disciples to pray with Him? He knew trouble was on the way – as Judas arrived with the guard from the Temple to arrest Him.
