Final Week Devo Day 30 - March 5

Today let’s read and reflect on just one verse – Mark chapter 15, verse 1. Picture Jesus as He is described in this setting. What does this do to your heart?

A bit of background – Around 5 a.m, a second trial is a "rubber stamp “of the first trial's decision. Jesus is bound and sent to Pontius Pilate, the Roman Prefect of Judea, for punishment around 6 a.m.

How do think Jesus felt to be quickly condemned by the religious leaders who knew the Old Testament prophesies of the Messiah?

Have you ever wondered why could these leaders not recognize Jesus as the Messiah? – The apostle Paul gives insight in 2 Corinthians 3:15–16 “Yet still today, whenever Moses is read, a veil lies over their hearts, but whenever a person turns to the Lord, the veil is removed.” A veil was a spiritual blinder that kept these leaders from recognizing and realizing who Jesus is – the Promised Messiah… the Savior of the world.

Have you ever found yourself going through religious motions without recognizing Jesus?

Let’s prayerfully encounter Jesus – Imagine Jesus “going out to find” you (John 9: 35) – when we find ourselves stuck spiritually. Jesus is still going out to find ones cast out and hurt from irrelevant religious people.
