Final Week Devo Day 36 - March 11

Let’s keep walking with Jesus in His FINAL WEEK as sadly Peter denies Him 3x’s. How did this happen? How did Peter go from saying he would never deny Him to swearing he did not know Him? How does this happen to us? Let’s reflect once again on Matthew chapter 26, verses 36 – 46 using the H.E.A.R. method. As you read the passage, do the following:
H- highlight the verses that stand out to you.
E – explain the verse(s) in your own words of what God is saying to you.
A – apply the verse to your life. (What would it look like to live this truth in your
life?)
R – respond in prayer by writing your heart to God.

Consider – What request did Jesus ask Simon Peter with the disciples to do in the hour of his arrest?
What was the condition of the disciples when Jesus returned from prayer?

Insight – the reason Simon Peter denied Jesus is because of his prayerlessness. Jesus told Peter – “Stay awake and pray, so that you won’t enter into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Imagine Jesus speaking these words to you. Temptation is coming; prepare by being alert in prayer.

Pause and ask – Jesus, what should I be alert in prayer concerning? For which relationship, troubling thought or painful emotion, financial decision, path for my vocation, or temptation to sin would you desire me to join you in prayer?
