What a beautiful day to wake up in Sarasota, Florida! Sense the Lord’s new mercies and His compassion toward you. We have been walking with Jesus in His final hours of His FINAL WEEK. Let’s read the Old Testament prophet Isaiah chapter 53 using the H.E.A.R. method. As you read the passage, do the following:
H- highlight the verses that stand out to you.
E – explain the verse(s) in your own words of what God is saying to you.
A – apply the verse to your life. (What would it look like to live this truth in your
life?)
R – respond in prayer by writing your heart to God.
Each of these four steps cultivates a heart-attitude to hear God speak.
Zoom in to V.6 – “We all went astray like sheep;
we all have turned to our own way; and the Lord has punished him for the iniquity of us all.” As you reflect on the sufferings and death of Jesus for our sins, write a prayer of thanksgiving to the Lord for His sacrificial love.
Read Vs. 4 – 6 again and substitute “My” each time you read “our” & substitute “I” each time you read “we.” Personalize Jesus’ death for you. You are one loved by God.
As you celebrate Jesus’ sacrificial love for you, who in your daily traffic patterns could you startle with Jesus’ love with giving first? (maybe a text of encouragement or words of acceptance).
