Final Week Devo Day 54 - March 29

This is GOOD FRIDAY. Why do we call this Friday ‘good?’ It was certainly not ‘good’ for Jesus as He suffered the death of crucifixion; yet we call it ‘good’ for this day resulted in our salvation from our sins. Let’s read prayerfully Matthew chapter 27, verses 45 – 56 using the H.E.A.R. method. As you read the passage, do the following:
H- highlight the verses that stand out to you.
E – explain the verse(s) in your own words of what God is saying to you.
A – apply the verse to your life. (What would it look like to live this truth in your
life?)
R – respond in prayer by writing your heart to God.

Each of these four steps cultivates a heart-attitude to hear God speak.

Zoom into V. 54 – What do you think led the Roman centurion in charge of Jesus’ crucifixion to make a bold statement about Jesus – “Truly this was the Son of God”?

What leads you to make a bold profession of faith in Jesus on this Good Friday?

Express to Jesus your desire to be unashamed of Him – “Jesus, You died for me – publicly, naked, without shame – so that I can be forgiven. You tore the veil that separated me from the holiness of God and You have shaken the ground of my heart by Your amazing love; I surrender my life to live for You and will not be ashamed of You or Your Gospel. Help me to live for You before ______________________________, for I pray in Your name, Amen”
