Raised to Walk Devo Day 13 - April 13

Let’s continue reading the book of Acts chapter 16.

As you read this chapter, write in your journal the answer to the following questions:
Who was baptized?
·Who baptized the new converts?
·When were they baptized?
·Why were they baptized?

Let’s zero into Vs. 33–34 (CSB) – “Right away he (the jailer) and all his family were
baptized. He brought them into his house, set a meal before them, and rejoiced because
he had come to believe in God with his entire household.”

Notice the words: “Right away… he was baptized.” This is ‘immediate obedience.’ Once
you know something is pleasing to God, you do it. Obedience results in spiritual growth
and change, but procrastination (delaying to obey) results in emptiness and uncertainty.
Question to ponder – “Have you obeyed Jesus by being baptized after your belief in
Him?” If so, rejoice and walk in your new identity; If not, respond to Him with a heart of
immediate obedience by being baptized tomorrow afternoon at Beach Baptism.
Pray. – “Abba Father, thank You for giving me the privilege to believe in Jesus to be
forgiven and cleansed of my sin. I want to obey immediately all that you ask of me. If
you are asking me to be baptized to identify with You, I am willing. For I humbly pray in
Jesus’ name, Amen!
