Raised to Walk Devo Day 23 - April 23

Let’s prayerfully reflect on Romans chapter 8. As you read the passage, do the
following:

H- highlight the verses that stand out to you.
E – explain the verse(s) in your own words of what God is saying to you.
A – apply the verse to your life. (What would it look like to live this truth in your
life?)
R – respond in prayer by writing your heart to God.

Let’s Zero into Vs. 26 – 27 “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do
not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through
wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit,
because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.”
Have you ever faced a situation so difficult, painful, or confusing that you don’t know
what to pray? Sometimes, it’s hard to put into words what we are feeling. The Holy
Spirit steps in during those times and intercedes on your behalf. What does it mean to
intercede? The word "intercede" means to come between two parties and act as a
mediator or advocate. In other words, the Holy Spirit can speak on your behalf to the
Father. Isn't that amazing! When you don't know what to pray the Holy Spirit intercedes
for you!
It’s okay to let the Holy Spirit know you don't have the words to say. He understands. He
knows what you are going through. He sees you. When life gets tough and you don’t
know what to pray, ask the Holy Spirit to guide you, to help you, and to intercede for
you.
Today, take at least 5 minutes to pray. As you come to hard topics in your prayers, don’t
cover them up or try to pretend they are okay. Ask the Holy Spirit to search your heart
and intercede on your behalf before the Father. Enjoy the fact that you have an
advocate who knows you, loves you, and speaks for you. He is the greatest advocate to
have on your side!
