Beyond Possible Day 10 - May 8

Let’s prayerfully read & reflect on Genesis chapter 23, which sadly records the
death of a beloved mother, Sarah. What highlights stand out to you from today’s
reading?

Let’s focus on V. 19 – “After this, Abraham buried his wife Sarah in the cave of the
field at Machpelah near Mamre (that is, Hebron) in the land of Canaan.” A beloved
mother and wife had a special burial place. As Mother’s Day approaches, is there
a special burial place for a woman who played a significant role in your
development? (Maybe a mother, grandmother, mentor, teacher, etc) Think of
where they are buried and remember them with a heart of gratitude.

Pause and write out a prayer of gratitude to God for this special lady:
“Heavenly Father, please take me in my mind to where ________________ is
buried. I remember her today as one who influenced my life in the following ways
_________________________________________________________________
_________. I give You thanks for her life, for I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Reflecting on Hebrews 11: 13 – 16 many mothers will not realize their impact until
they look back from heaven.

Join us Sunday at 8: 30 a.m. for a “Memorial for Mothers” by the lake on our
church campus. We will take moments to remember our mothers who are no
longer physically with us on earth.
