Beyond Possible Day 12 - May 10

Let’s read the book of Exodus, chapter 2, verses 1 through 10. Highlight verses
that stand out to you.

Zero into the mother of Moses, Jocabed – V. 3   “But when she could no longer hide
him, she got a papyrus basket for him and coated it with asphalt and pitch. She
placed the child in it and set it among the reeds by the bank of the Nile.” Why did
she place newly born baby Moses in the Nile River? What do you think was her
motivation to place her son into such a dangerous river?

Reflect on Hebrews 11:23 – “   By faith Moses, after he was born, was hidden by his
parents for three months, because they saw that the child was beautiful, and they
didn’t fear the king’s edict.”

What insight does the text give to parents? The world system is much like the Nile
River, filled with predators like crocodiles, snakes, and puranas; the hope for our
children are practicing ‘faith’ in God’s protection, promises, and power on their behalf
in prayer.

Write out a prayer for parents (which could be yourself) to live ‘by faith’ as their
children enter challenging settings.
