BEYOND POSSIBLE is our theme as we journey together through “Faith’s Hall of
Fame” in Hebrews chapter 11. This week we will be focusing on Noah who
experienced the impossible “by faith.” Let’s prayerfully reflect on Genesis chapter
6. What stands out as a highlight for you? How could you explain this highlight to
a friend? What application can you make to your current situation? Write out a
prayer in response to what God is speaking to you.
Let’s zero into Vs.8, 18 – “Noah, however, found favor with the Lord.” And the Lord
instructed Noah – “I will establish my covenant with you, and you will enter the ark
with your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives.” Noah and his family freely
received the grace of God – i.e. God’s unmerited favor and mercy. The way Noah
was saved from the global flood is the way we are saved today from the
judgment to come. Ephesians 2: 8 promises, “For by grace are you saved
through faith…”
Write out a prayer of thankfulness to God for His grace to rescue you by the ark of
His Son (Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection). Hebrews 11: 7 states – “By faith Noah, after he was warned about what was not
yet seen and motivated by godly fear built an ark to deliver his family.”
