Beyond Possible Day 42 - June 9

This is the day we have been looking forward to all week! This is the Lord’s day; a
time for us to gather as a church family and uplift the Name which is above all
names, Jesus! In preparation for worship and fellowship, let’s prayerfully read and
reflect on Genesis chapter 11. What highlight stands out to you? How would
you explain this to a friend? What application does that have for your present situation?
Write a prayer in your journal leading your heart to respond to what God is
speaking to you.

Let’s zoom into V. 4 - And they said, “Come, let’s build ourselves a city and a tower
with its top in the sky. Let’s make a name for ourselves; otherwise, we will be
scattered throughout the earth.” This is what pride and declaring independence
from God sounds like. How sad to see the hearts rejecting God’s perfect care over
them and resorting to selfish ambition.

Can you identify with these words of pride and independence? Sadly, we all can.
What was the result?

As we reflect on the Book of Acts chapter 2 in the New Testament, we see the
curse of the tower of Babylon reversed. The Holy Spirit indwelt the believers and
they spoke about God’s wonders in a language that everyone could understand.
Jesus is the answer to our world’s confusion.

Lead your heart in prayer – “Abba Father, I humbly confess my sin of attempting
without You to do ____________________________________. I ask You to
forgive me and lead me to humbly listen to You and depend on You for all things,
for I humbly pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
