BEYOND POSSIBLE is our theme we are embracing by faith, for “the things are
impossible for men are possible with God.” Let’s prayerfully read a segment in
Abraham’s life in Genesis chapter 15. What’s a highlight from your reading?
Let’s zero into Vs. 5, 6 – Abraham was going through a ‘crisis of faith’ that a child
would be born to him in his old age. The Lord reassured him that the son would
come from his union with Sarah. Notice the BEYOND POSSIBLE miracle that
happens next -
The Lord took him outside and said, “Look at the sky and count the stars, if you
are able to count them.” Then he said to him, “Your offspring will be that
numerous.”
Abram believed the LORD, and he credited it to him as righteousness.
How did Abraham receive righteousness? By sincerely believing in the Lord!
The New Testament book of Romans chapter 4, verse 5 speaks that we receive
righteousness the same way Abraham did – i.e. “by faith.” God’s Word says, “To
the one who does not work, but believes on him who justifies the ungodly, his faith
is credited for righteousness.”
PRAYER PROMPT – “God, I humbly confess the emptiness of attempting to work
my way to a right standing with You. I simply believe that Jesus’ death and
resurrection are enough to clear me of guilt and give me a right standing with You.
This is my confession, and my heart is filled with gratitude that You have justified
me who was ungodly, and You have
