Are you ready to laugh? Let’s prayerfully read Genesis chapter 17; Is there any
part of this chapter that causes you to laugh? Highlight and write out an
application for your life and current challenges.
Hebrews chapter 11, verses 11–12 gives insight into this BEYOND POSSIBLE
miracle of a son being born to Abraham when he was 100 and Sarah when she
was 90 years of age. – “By faith even Sarah herself, when she was unable to have
children, received the power to conceive offspring, even though she was past the age,
since she considered that the one who had promised was faithful. 12 Therefore,
from one man—in fact, from one as good as dead—came offspring as numerous
as the stars of the sky and as innumerable as the grains of sand along the
seashore.”
How did this occur? God promised, and Sarah responded, “By faith.”
Pause and consider – What promise of God’s Word makes you laugh? (Not laugh
is unbelieving derision but laugh in believing devotion). Maybe His promise to
provide for all your needs (Philippians 4: 19); or the promise to give you direction
(Proverbs 3: 5,6); or the promise to give you a promising future (Jeremiah 29: 11).
Allow the Spirit to bring others promises to your heart that would fill you with joyful
laughter as you hold on to the faith.
PRAYER PROMPT – “Abba Father, as I consider the promise of Your Word that
says _______________________________________________ (Write out), My
heart laughs because I know You who promise will fulfill it. I believe in Your Word,
for I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen!”
