This faith adventure for Abraham is leading us to BEYOND POSSIBLE outcomes,
and the reality is that we are sons and daughters of Abraham today. We are ones
who believe in the promise of God in the giving of His Son. Let’s prayerfully read
Genesis chapter 18. What stands out to you as a highlight? How would you
explain this to a friend? What application can you make to life? Express your response
to God in prayer.
Let’s zero into Abraham’s prayerful conversation with the Lord concerning the
destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah in Vs. 23 – 32 – “Abraham stepped forward
and said…. “ interceding for God to spare the cities if just 10 righteous people
were found.
Pause and consider – We are living in cities and a world awaiting destruction (see
2 Peter 3: 7, 10-11). Step forward into the Lord’s presence as Abraham did and
intercede for them. This is called intercessory prayer, which is found throughout
Scripture. On behalf of Whom is the Lord impressing on your heart to intercede?
PRAYER PROMPT – “Abba Father, I bless You are patient not wanting any to
perish but all to come to repentance. I intercede on behalf of
____________________________ for salvation to be experienced and the hope
of the Gospel to be received, for I humbly pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Tomorrow is “Father’s Day!” So think of some special quality of your dad and
honor him for some benefit you have received. “Honor your father” does not mean
we have perfect fathers, but ones who we can celebrate for some aspect of
goodness they have imparted to us.
Challenge for Dads – intercede for your children for God’s love and blessings to be
experienced in their lives.
