Today is FATHER’S DAY! I am so blessed to be on this journey with men who are
fathers and influencers to their wives and children. Let’s endeavor to become
BEYOND POSSIBLE dads like Abraham. Let’s prayerfully read Genesis 22. What
is a highlight of this chapter for you? How would you explain?
Hebrews chapter 11, verses 17–19 provide an insightful explanation of this time in
Abraham’s difficult faith journey – “ By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered
up Isaac. He received the promises and yet he was offering his one and only son,
18 the one to whom it had been said, Your offspring will be traced through
Isaac. , 19 He considered God to be able even to raise someone from the dead;
therefore, he received him back, figuratively speaking.”
Abraham was willing to do whatever the Lord directed him, leaving the results to
Him. He is an example to us all.
Let me encourage you to watch (today if possible) the movie “His Only Son” which is
the story of Abraham’s life. Discuss as a family or friends what sincere faith was
demonstrated from Abraham’s life. How might this apply to your life and
relationships?
