Awaken Devo Day 1 - July 1

Welcome to our journey together of “31 Days of Prayer for Spiritual Awakening in our
Nation!” Let’s begin this journey one step at a time. Each day of this journey will lead us to take steps of reading, responding, and praying Scripture together for spiritual awakening in our land.

Let’s begin by reading 2 Chronicles chapter 7. What’s a highlight from your reading? What application can you make to your life? Respond to the Lord’s Word by writing out a prayer.

Let’s zoom in to Vs. 13-14 – “If I shut the sky so there is no rain or if I command the
grasshopper to consume the land or if I send pestilence on my people 14 and my people
who bear my name humble themselves, pray, and seek my face, and turn from their evil
ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.”

King Solomon is dedicating the Temple to God, and the Lord instructs him – ‘When
problems strike, my people are to humbly seek me in repentance and believing prayer.’
As we start this time of praying for spiritual AWAKENING for our nation, begin with your
own heart. The advice of Rodney ‘Gypsy’ Smith, who was a preacher from the late 1800s,
is timeless for revival to start: “Go home, lock yourself in your room. Kneel down in the
middle of the floor, and with a piece of chalk draw a circle around yourself. There on your
knees pray fervently and brokenly that God would start a revival within that chalk circle.”

FIND A PLACE TO KNEEL & PRAY – “Heavenly Father, there are problems in our land,
and I humbly bring them to you (Name them) _____________________________. I
desire to humble myself, pray, seek your face, and turn from my sin – in my own circle.
Begin a spiritual awakening with me. I am believing your promise to hear my prayer,
forgive my sin, and heal my nation, for I humbly pray in Jesus’ name. Amen!”
