On this 11th day of our 31 days of prayer for our nation, let’s read prayerfully the book of
Daniel chapter 6. What are some highlights and applications for your life?
Let’s zoom in to the outcome of Daniel’s life and witness for the Lord - Vs. 26–27 – The
Persian King Darius said, “I issue a decree that in all my royal dominion, people must
tremble in fear before the God of Daniel:
For he is the living God,
and he endures forever;
his kingdom will never be destroyed,
and his dominion has no end.
27 He rescues and delivers;
he performs signs and wonders
in the heavens and on the earth,
for he has rescued Daniel
from the power of the lions.”
Wow! This is a spiritual AWAKENING when a pagan king makes a faith confession. Let’s
pray to live the lives of witnesses like Daniel that would cause others to come to faith in Jesus.
Let’s agree together on the following prayer points:
• THANKS I Give thanks to the Father: Heavenly Father, I offer my thanks and
praise that you have chosen me for divine purpose and mission. I rejoice in your
sovereignty over every leader in our nation. May your kingdom come and your will
be done on earth as it is in heaven.
• CONFESSION I Listen for the Holy Spirit’s prompting for confession: Search
me, Lord; remove from my life everything that distracts from my kingdom witness.
Refine me, change me, and engage me as salt and light in a dark world. Ask God’s
Spirit to make such a change in you that others can’t help but recognize you have
been with Jesus.
• PETITION I Join Jesus in prayers of petition: Lord Jesus, we appeal to you for
our president, vice president, cabinet members, and members of both the House
and Senate to make decisions that will lead toward a more peaceful and orderly
America. Please guide our upcoming election process in November. Lord, we also
ask that these leaders lead us to ways better representing you and your ways;
including decisions leading toward the dignity and sanctity of all human life from
conception until natural death. Lord God, may these leaders provide ways for our
nation to be secure from terrorism inside and outside our nation’s borders (Israel &
Ukraine).
May Your Spirit lead us to only follow the Lion & the Lamb and not be known by
a donkey or elephant as the election approaches, for we pray in Jesus’ name,
Amen!
