What does spiritual AWAKENING look like in a church? Let’s prayerfully read Acts chapter
2, verses 42 – 47. What were some noticeable outcomes of awakening in the early
church? In what ways is our church like the one in Acts 2? In what ways could we develop
to become like the church in Acts 2?
Let’s zero into V. 42 –“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to the
fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer.” Let’s pray that we will be pastors
and people devoted to the Lord in prayer.
• THANKS: Heavenly Father, with deep gratitude we celebrate the powerful
the simplicity of devoting ourselves to “prayer and ministry of the Word” as the hope of
gospel expansion.
• CONFESSION: Speak, Holy Spirit, as you desire to challenge me to a deepened
walk with you. I repent of a shallow prayer life and at times missing the gospel
opportunities you present.
• PETITION: Jesus, even as you pray for the world to know that we are your
disciples by how we love, we commit to join you in this mission (see John 13:35).
May the evidence of your love through me touch many with the gospel message.
• WORD: “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under
heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). Lord, I yield to
your eternal purposes in furthering the cause of Jesus and the gospel; I want to
make my life count for eternity.
