Wow! Today is the 29th day of our 31 days of prayer for spiritual AWAKENING for our
nation. Let’s read Acts chapter 12 of AWAKENING that occurred as the result of God’s
church praying. What are some highlights and takeaways you can make from today’s
reading?
Let’s zero into V.5 - “The church was earnestly praying ...” for the release of Peter; God
answered their prayers with a miracle in a way they did not expect! It appears they were
still expecting Peter to go to trial. They were not expecting God to do something that
immediate and miraculous.
THANKS: Holy Father, we thank and praise you as the one who brings forth your will
despite human frailties, for nothing shall thwart your plans! I praise you that your kingdom
will come on earth as it is in heaven.
CONFESSION: Forgive me, Lord, as I too often focus on the “horizontal” strategies of this
world rather than the certain solutions of the kingdom; enlist my heart to prevail in prayer
that you would show yourself strong on our behalf.
PETITION: Lord Jesus, strengthen my faith to believe that any obstacle can be removed,
miracles can happen, and the gospel ministry of your church can “spread and flourish.”
WORD: “The church was earnestly praying ...” (Acts 12:5 NIV). Lord God, would you by
your Spirit make this verse real for your people today? Would you gather us in united,
prevailing prayer that your plans and purposes might come forth in our day? Come, Lord
Jesus, come!
