Today let’s begin reading James chapter 2; we will read it several times this week.
Let’s ZOOM INTO V. 1 – “My brothers and sisters, do not show favoritism as you hold on to the faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ.”
Pause & reflect on Jesus’ encounter with Zacchaeus in Luke 19: 1- 10. What kind of reputation did Zacchaeus have? How did Jesus respond to him?
ENCOUNTER JESUS: The same Jesus who welcomed Zacchaeus with open arms is the same Jesus who welcomes you with joy. – See Hebrews 13: 8. What does this do to your heart? Express your heart to Jesus for His unconditional love for you (Romans 5: 8).
Jesus calls you to “love one another, as I have loved you.” (John 13: 34). Look for someone in your traffic pattern to ‘freely give’ the accepting love of Jesus you have ‘freely received.’
Our mission at SBC is “to lead people to know Jesus and live like Him.” We do this by “loving all people” (one of our core values).
