Let’s prayerfully read again James chapter 2…. the entire chapter to learn to ‘think’ the Bible, so we can ‘live’ the Word.
ZOOM INTO Vs. 8 – 13 – What words or phrases stand out as highlights? How can you apply this truth to your life?
“Favoritism” (the practice of giving unfair preferential treatment to one person or group at the expense of another) is clearly defined as sin; “love your neighbor as yourself’ is the antidote (way to counteract) attitudes of favoritism.
As you think about your family, friends, workplace, school, etc., Who could benefit from your expressions of love? (by giving attention as they speak; by reassuring words of security or offering support or by a sincere ‘thank you’ for kindness expressed.)
PRAYER PROMPT: “Abba Father, I desire to live your ‘royal law’ today be loving ones near me today as I love myself. May Your Spirit help me to love (name someone who is different or difficult) _____________________________________ by freely giving (name a relational need you could meet – i.e. appreciation, encouragement, etc.) _____________________________. I believe in Your love to do this, for I humbly pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
