This is the DAY the Lord has made in beautiful Sarasota! As we anticipate worshipping together, let’s prayerfully read 1 Corinthians 4: 1 – 5.
Let’s ZOOM INTO 1 Corinthians 4:4,“…It is the Lord who judges.”
Too often, we place our personal preferences and convictions on the same playing field as the Bible, judging (looking down on) others when they don’t reach our expectations. We find ourselves asking why people do things differently than we do, even though their practices may not be sinful.
God says we can leave the questioning up to Him. When we condemn others, we are essentially saying that God’s judgment is not good enough and we can stand in His place.
So, when we have judgmental thoughts about others, we must remember “Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart…” We can leave the job of judging up to God. Our calling on earth is to “Love one another, as I have loved you.” (John 13: 34,35).

PAUSE & REFLECT :
- “Spirit of God, search for my heart for ways that I fall into the trap of judging others ….. maybe wrongly comparing or sadly condemning. As You bring these to my heart, I humbly confess them to you as sin; please create in me a clean heart.
- As I enter this new day, please guard my mind from being a Pharisee… I desire to live like Jesus and demonstrate His love to ones in my traffic pattern, for I pray in Jesus’ name Amen!”
