Let’s take a moment and pray a special prayer of thanksgiving for the ones who have served in our United States Armed Forces; if you see a veteran, express your gratitude to them for their service.
Let’s prayerfully read & reflect on 1 Corinthians chapter 9, verses 1 – 14. Using the H.E.A.R. method, what are some words or phrases that are highlighted to you? How would you explain them to a friend? What application can you make to your life? What heart response can you have to God at the point of His Word?
Following your entry into your journal, let’s ZOOM INTO V. 14 – “In the same way, the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should earn their living by the gospel.”
Have you ever asked, “Why give time and money to the church?” It is clear that the mission, ministries, and ministers can be well supported; the outcomes are major as we consider the impact of families in our community.
God calls us to give and serve in the church. Ultimately, our lack of participation does not cause the church to fail, rather, when we fail to serve and give in the local church, we don’t get to participate in what God is doing among us. What a loss!
PRAYER PROMPT: “Heavenly Father, thank you for blessing Your church at SBC. I am grateful that our church ________________________________. I pray your blessing over our pastors and leaders, and I thank you for the joy of contributing time and money to what You are doing among us, In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Reflect:
- Is it time to take the next step and start serving at your local church?
- Are you experiencing real community? Is it time to consider joining a connect group?
