ONE Devo Day 19 - November 15

Let’s prayerfully read & reflect on 1 Corinthians chapter 10, verses 14 – 22.

Using the H.E.A.R. method, what are some words or phrases that are highlight to you? How
would your explain them to a friend? What application can you make to your life? What
heart response can you have to God at the point of His Word?
Write down your thoughts and ‘journal with God.’

Next, Let’s ZOOM INTO V. 14 – “So then, my dear friends, flee from idolatry.”
 Simply stated, an idol is anything that is a rival for God being the first and foremost
pursuit in our lives.
 Reflect on the words of Jesus - “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate
the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other”
(Matthew 6:24).
 An idol can be anything that is seeking to take your focus away from Jesus. An idol
can be a person, position, power, activity, hobby… that would be of greater
importance that Jesus.

PRAYER PROMPT (Just to get you started) – “Lord, You are the primary pursuit and
person in my life. I surrender all of my life to you. I confess that I struggle with
_______________________ becoming an idol. I ask You to free me from this idol so I may
flee from sin, for I give everything and everyone to you, Jesus. Amen!”
