Let’s read & reflect on 1 Corinthians chapter 13 (which will be the text for Sunday’s sermon ‘ONE Motivation). Using the H.E.A.R. method, what words or phrases are highlighted to you? How would you explain this to a friend? What application can you make to your life? What heart response can you have to God at the point of His Word?
Write your response down to cultivate the habit of ‘journaling with God.’
The right motivation to serve is LOVE.
LET’S ZOOM INTO Vs. 4–7 – “Love is patient, love is kind. Love does not envy, is not boastful, is not arrogant, 5 is not rude, is not self-seeking, is not irritable, and does not keep a record of wrongs. 6 Love finds no joy in unrighteousness but rejoices in the truth. 7 It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
PRAYER: “Heavenly Father, I acknowledge that it’s not doing great things for you nor knowing great things about You that You desire. I pray that I will prioritize loving You more deeply and loving one another. May love increase in my life. An area in life I see Your love is ______________ . I celebrate how You are changing me. An area I desire Your love to become more evident is _________________. For I humbly pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
