Let’s read the entire chapter of Psalm 107 again. This is what I call “Thanksgiving through Psalm 107.” Using the H.E.A.R. method, what words or phrases are highlighted to you? How would you explain this to a friend? What application can you make to your life? What heart response can you have to God at the point of His Word?
Write your response down to cultivate the habit of ‘journaling with God.’
Let’s ZOOM into Vs. 15 – 20. “Let’s give thanks to the LORD for His unfailing love… He sent out His Word and healed them; He rescued them for the grave.”
PAUSE & CONSIDER a time in your life when God’s Word healed you…. Maybe wrong thinking, painful emotions, physical challenge, or confusion. Write a prayer to God thanking Him for His healing and rescue in your life.
“Abba Father, I remember experiencing a challenge of ________________________ , and You sent Your promise of ____________________________(write down the Bible reference), Thank You for being a good God who loves me in my pain, for I humbly pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Hearing about God's healing power is common in the Christian community, but it's easy to become desensitized to it. However, when you experience it for yourself, it's impossible not to be moved to gratitude.
Just imagine that's how Lazarus felt when Jesus brought him back to life - there was no denying the power of God's healing. It's important to remember that healing can be both physical and spiritual.
If we yield to His Word of promise, God can heal us from depression, addictions, and anything else that might be ailing us. All we must do is call upon His name and He will listen.
How can we not give Him thanksgiving?
